Karel Garcia is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in St. Petersburg, FL.
His work explores identity, heritage, and transformation through a dynamic blend of texture, form, and storytelling. With a strong commitment to community and culture, Karles creates pieces that invite deep feelings, reflection and connection.
From intimate portraits to large-scale works, his practice is grounded in authenticity and experimentation. Karal has exhibited in galleries across Florida and continues to expand his reach through both digital and physical platforms.

Artist Bio
Karel Garcia (b. December 27, 1990)
Visual Artist & Architect | St. Petersburg, FL
Karel Garcia is a Cuban-born artist and architect whose work explores themes of identity, equality, and human connection. From an early age, he studied drawing, painting, and sculpture through youth workshops in Havana, training at the Casa de la Cultura de Plaza in Vedado while preparing for the prestigious San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts.
Though he pursued a career in architecture—earning his degree in 2017—Karel remained deeply connected to the visual arts. While working in architecture, he joined projects at Habana Espacio Creativo that merged psychology and creativity, leading to his first solo exhibition. That show marked the beginning of his Human series, an ongoing body of large-scale work examining the human form and the structures that shape our social experience.
In response to Cuba’s social and political climate, Karel emigrated to the U.S., where he continues his artistic journey. Now based in St. Petersburg, Florida, he has exhibited at The Factory and Estudios 5663, and is a current resident artist with the Green Book of Tampa Bay. He also serves as the featured artist in residence at We Art St. Pete.
Karel works out of his studio in the Warehouse Arts District and lives in St. Petersburg with his partner, an art advocate and dedicated supporter of his creative practice.
